The Inter Celtic Dance Competition is held on Friday. This is perhaps the most colourful and certainly the most dramatic manifestation and expression of the Celtic vibrancy. The flair, panache and sheer energy on display makes for a stunning evening.
Public displays of dance can also be viewed during festival week and our Welsh visitors, dressed in traditional costume always give a mesmerising display of their local dances.
Bealtaine festival – Ireland’s national celebration of creativity as we age. During May, all over the country Bealtaine events are running in arts centres, theatres, libraries, galleries, community centres, local halls, care setting, cultural spaces and even out in the open air!
The national Bealtaine festival, co-ordinated by Age & Opportunity in partnership with local authorities and arts and older people’s organizations, features older people as artists and performers, as event organisers and as audiences and participants. It is this unique collaboration across generations that makes the festival special each year.
